Job description

About the Role
The Cell Operator performs investment casting finishing operations including, blending, straightening, hand-finishing, and visual inspection to bring castings to dimensional and cosmetic standards required for customer delivery or downstream processing. This role works within a production cell environment to execute multiple finishing operations and ensure that castings meet all applicable customer and quality requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Manual dexterity for blending, and hand-finishing operations on complex casting geometries.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions for finishing requirements.
  • Visual acuity for surface finish inspection and visual defect identification.
  • Ability to operate multiple finishing tools and equipment types.
  • Attention to detail for dimensional verification and traveler documentation.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Environment: Finishing cell production area; metal dust, abrasive particles, and grinding noise present.
  • Physical demands: Extended standing; repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions for grinding and finishing; lifting castings up to 35 lbs. Vision - 20/20 or correctable.
  • PPE: Safety glasses, hearing protection, safety-toed shoes, and abrasion gloves.
