Job description

Southeastern Site Development, Inc. is seeking experienced Dozer Operators - Rough Grade / Finish Grade for heavy civil infrastructure, roadway construction, and mass grading projects throughout the Southern Atlanta Metro Region - Griffin. We are hiring both rough grading and finish grading operators.


Depending on experience and qualifications, operators may be assigned to perform mass excavation, cut/fill operations, site preparation, roadway grading, building pad construction, slope work, and precision finish grading utilizing GPS systems. Successful candidates must be committed to safety, quality workmanship, and maintaining production goals in a fast-paced construction environment.


Rough Grade Operations

  • Perform clearing, stripping, excavation, and mass earth-moving activities.
  • Execute cut and fill operations according to project plans and grade stakes.
  • Construct roadbeds, embankments, building pads, and drainage features.
  • Maintain proper site drainage during grading operations.
  • Work efficiently with scrapers, excavators, haul trucks, compactors, and other support equipment.


Finish Grade Operations

  • Perform precision grading of roadways, building pads, parking areas, and site features.
  • Utilize GPS to achieve design elevations and tolerances.
  • Read and interpret grading plans, survey layouts, and construction specifications.
  • Coordinate closely with survey crews and field supervision to maintain grade accuracy.
  • Verify finished surfaces meet project requirements before subsequent construction activities.


General Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Operate equipment safely around personnel, utilities, structures, and other equipment.
  • Follow company safety policies and project-specific requirements.
  • Assist with other construction activities as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating dozer
  • Working knowledge of grading, excavation, and earth-moving operations.
  •  Ability to safely operate equipment in varying terrain, weather, and jobsite conditions.
  • Ability to read grade stakes or understand site layout
  • Ability to work safely on active construction jobsites
  • Reliable transportation to jobsites within the
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail

  • Minimum of 1 year of on-site heavy equipment operating experience
