Job description

Village of Promise is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic After Care Worker to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old during our afternoon program.

Position Details
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (may vary based on school needs. Follows school schedule) 
  • Employment Type: Part-Time
  • Age Groups: Infants through Pre-K (6 weeks to 5 years)
  • $15.00/hour
Essential Responsibilities
  • Supervise and care for children in a safe and positive manner.
  • Assist with age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and learning opportunities.
  • Support children with snacks, restroom breaks, and daily routines as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Follow all center policies, safety procedures, and state childcare regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and leadership.
  • Monitor children's well-being and report any concerns promptly.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience working with young children preferred.
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively with children, families, and staff.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and actively engage with young children throughout the shift.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Required Background Screening

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing all required Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) background checks and clearances, including any fingerprinting or child abuse/neglect registry requirements.
