Contractor Relations Specialist 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Contractor Relations Specialist will find contractors with Underground or Aerial crews, verify that they have the experience necessary, can work in the state(s) where they are needed, and that they meet our contracting requirements. Once the contractors are identified and under contract with Metronet, the Contractor Relations Specialist will hand the contractor off to the various construction project teams for day-to-day work assignments, quality inspections and invoice approval. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Produce rate cards for the on-boarded partner and verify rates have been approved by the Senior Directors of the markets and upload those rates to the appropriate systems.
  • Respond to invoicing concerns from the contractors and work with the local teams to answer questions or concerns for the contractors.
  • Find qualified Aerial construction Contractors as required for our extensive construction program.
  • Evaluate prospective Contractors to determine qualifications and their ability to meet our construction contract requirements.
  • Work with our Business Controls team to get each Contractor under contract and all insurance and registration requirements are met.
  • Answer contractor questions regarding our contract terms and insurance requirements
  • Prepare detailed progress reports showing recruiting contacts and status of Contractors that are being placed under contract.
  • Work closely with the project build teams to understand their contractor needs including type and number of crews and timing.
  • Maintain day-to-day communication with the Vice President of Construction.
  • Produce quality results in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Represent MetroNet professionally to the Contractors encountered.
  • Respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and Contractors.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance according to company policies.
  • Adhere to company policies, regulations, procedures, and principles.
  • Keep “All other duties as assigned” as final bullet point

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 2 years’ experience recruiting underground and aerial construction contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of Telecom construction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
