Job description

Onda is seeking an experienced, execution-focused Chief Marketing Officer to lead a dedicated internal marketing team consisting of a Media Buyer, Email Marketer, and Creative Campaign Manager. This team will work together with the unified goal of helping Onda's clients grow their Ecommerce business and thrive through Onda's digital marketing services.
This role is ideal for a senior marketing leader who has years of hands-on media buying experience, understands performance marketing deeply, and can connect strategy to execution. The CMO will own high-level marketing direction while actively guiding channel strategy, creative alignment, and performance optimization.
This is not a purely advisory role-you will be close to the work, the data, and the team.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
  • Own overall marketing strategy for assigned brands or internal initiatives.
  • Translate business goals into clear, actionable channel strategies.
  • Ensure alignment between paid media, email/CRM, and creative campaigns.
  • Set priorities, KPIs, and success metrics for the team.
Team Leadership & Pod Management
  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional pod including:
    • Media Buyer
    • Email Marketer
    • Creative Campaign Manager
  • Provide strategic direction, feedback, and performance guidance.
  • Ensure strong collaboration and accountability across roles.
  • Elevate team output through clarity, structure, and coaching.
Paid Media Strategy & Oversight (Required)
  • Bring hands-on experience in paid media (Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon, or similar).
  • Guide media buyers on:
    • Account structure
    • Budget allocation
    • Creative testing frameworks
    • Scaling vs efficiency decisions
  • Review performance data and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Step in tactically when needed to troubleshoot or guide execution.

Creative & Messaging Alignment
  • Ensure creative campaigns align with performance goals and brand strategy.
  • Partner closely with the Creative Campaign Manager to:
    • Maintain brand voice and storytelling
    • Leverage founder stories and key narratives
    • Ensure creative supports funnel stages
  • Balance brand-building with conversion-focused messaging.
Email & Lifecycle Strategy
  • Oversee lifecycle marketing strategy in collaboration with the Email Marketer.
  • Ensure email supports acquisition, conversion, retention, and LTV growth.
  • Align email strategy with paid media and creative campaigns.
Performance Analysis & Optimization
  • Review cross-channel performance regularly.
  • Identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Use data to inform decisions and prioritize initiatives.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to leadership or clients.
Requirements
  • 5-8 years of experience in digital marketing.
  • Previous experience as a CMO, Head of Marketing, Growth Lead, or similar senior role.
  • Hands-on paid media experience (this is required, not optional).
  • Deep understanding of performance marketing, funnels, and attribution.
  • Experience leading cross-functional marketing teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with execution-level understanding.
  • Ability to work part-time/fractionally while delivering high impact.
  • Comfortable working in an agency environment with multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Agency experience (digital, performance, or growth-focused).
  • Experience working with e-commerce, DTC, or service-based brands.
  • Familiarity with tools like Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Klaviyo, GA4, etc.
  • Strong communicator who can simplify complex strategy for teams.
