Job description

Senior Project Manager – Financial Systems

New York, NY | Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite | Contract | 2 Openings

MaxIT Consulting – Max Corporate Group is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Financial Systems for a large multinational organization.

This role is focused on leading complex, enterprise-scale ERP financial systems initiatives, with particular emphasis on Oracle EBS and/or SAP, global delivery, project governance, stakeholder management, and full end-to-end implementation lifecycles.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned individual contributor with strong executive presence, the ability to operate independently, and a proven track record delivering complex initiatives across multiple regions and stakeholder groups.

The Opportunity

You will manage large financial systems projects from planning through production deployment and closure, working across business, technology, testing, finance, vendors, and executive leadership.

The environment requires someone who can manage both Agile and Waterfall delivery models, communicate effectively with C-level stakeholders, and bring structure and accountability to complex multinational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex ERP financial systems projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and governance artifacts.
  • Manage project scope, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and change controls.
  • Maintain RAID logs and proactively drive issue resolution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams across business and technology functions.
  • Manage onshore and offshore resources across multiple regions.
  • Lead planning and execution across Development, SIT, UAT, and Production deployment phases.
  • Support and coordinate UAT planning, execution, defect management, and test tracking.
  • Prepare and present project status updates, executive reports, and Steering Committee materials.
  • Communicate project risks, decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior and C-level stakeholders.
  • Manage resources, budgets, schedules, and delivery quality throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Ensure changes to scope, schedule, or budget are properly documented and approved.
  • Support successful project closure and transition into operational support.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders across North America, LATAM, and EMEA.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Approximately 5–10+ years of Project Management experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience managing Finance Systems or ERP Financial Systems projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with Oracle EBS and/or SAP ERP.
  • Hands-on experience with Planview.
  • Proven ownership of multiple end-to-end project lifecycle implementations.
  • Experience across at least 5 full project lifecycles is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the complete SDLC, including:
    • Development
    • System Integration Testing (SIT)
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Production deployment
  • Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Global project delivery experience involving regions such as North America, LATAM, and EMEA.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and C-level stakeholders.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Experience managing project schedules, resources, budgets, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Ability to work independently and ramp up quickly with minimal guidance.
Required ERP Experience

Candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate experience managing actual ERP financial systems implementations.

Experience working for a financial-services organization alone is not sufficient.

Relevant experience should include direct project ownership involving:

  • Oracle EBS and/or SAP financial systems
  • ERP implementation or transformation
  • End-to-end delivery
  • Development through production deployment
  • SIT and UAT

  • Coordinating delivery across North America, LATAM, and EMEA
  • Supporting occasional evening meetings with global teams
  • Presenting to Steering Committees
  • Communicating with executive and C-level stakeholders
  • Operating independently in large, matrixed organizations
