This position follows a hybrid work schedule with four days onsite at one of the following Citizens hub locations:

  • Boston, MA
  • Westwood, MA
  • Iselin, NJ
  • Pittsburgh, PA

About the Role

Citizens is seeking a Lead Solutions Architect to provide architectural leadership for enterprise accounting and financial systems supporting critical business functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, financial reporting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting.

This role partners closely with Accounting, Finance, Technology, and Enterprise Architecture teams to drive modernization initiatives, establish technology direction, and deliver scalable solutions that support the future of finance technology at Citizens.


Responsibilities
  • Lead architecture and solution design across enterprise financial platforms.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Technology teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technology architectures.
  • Provide technical leadership across a cross-functional delivery team.
  • Drive modernization efforts and system integration strategies.
  • Establish architecture standards and best practices.
  • Present recommendations and roadmaps to business and technology leaders.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to align solutions with organizational strategy.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Technical Leadership, or related roles.
  • Experience supporting enterprise financial systems, ERP platforms, or accounting technology solutions.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, and Financial Reporting.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale technology solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of systems integration, data management, and application architecture.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and complex technology initiatives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, Insurance, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud ERP, SAP, Workday Financials, or other enterprise financial platforms.
  • Experience with financial reporting, planning, and performance management solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and Agile delivery environments.
