These consultants often work with financial institutions, technology providers, or consulting firms to bridge the gap between financial needs and available solutions.

How does a financial solution consultant typically collaborate with sales and technical teams during client engagements?

Financial Solution Consultants play a crucial role as the bridge between sales, technical teams, and clients. Job description

Are you energized by the intersection of data, innovation, and insurance? Do you thrive on turning complex underwriting philosophies into elegant, automated solutions? If so, this could be the role you've been looking for.
About the Role
As a Life Underwriting Solution Designer, you'll be at the forefront of transforming how life insurance underwriting works - blending deep industry knowledge with cutting-edge automation and third-party data innovation. This is a client-facing, high-impact role where your ideas don't just sit in a deck - they come to life in real tools that shape the future of underwriting. Based in Fort Wayne, IN, you'll collaborate with carriers, cross-functional teams, and industry leaders to design smarter, faster, and more accurate underwriting workflows.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner directly with clients to deeply understand their underwriting philosophies and translate them into automated decisioning tools and innovative solutions
  • Design and implement end-to-end underwriting workflows, driving requirements gathering, specification documentation, and solution architecture
  • Lead group discussions with confidence and balance - bringing persuasion and open-mindedness to guide stakeholders toward the most effective path forward
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all solutions align with business objectives and compliance standards
  • Expand beyond traditional automated decisioning - exploring and integrating third-party data use cases and underwriting innovations
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of implemented changes, iterating for continuous improvement
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing fresh perspectives on best practices in life underwriting, digital health data, and automation

About the Team
Our Underwriting Solutions team is a dynamic group of forward-thinkers who are passionate about harnessing the power of data to revolutionize life insurance underwriting. We sit at the exciting crossroads of technology, data science, and insurance expertise - designing the automated tools and innovative frameworks that help carriers make smarter, faster underwriting decisions. We're collaborative, curious, and committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in underwriting automation.
About You
You're a natural problem-solver who combines technical know-how with strong people skills. You're equally comfortable diving into data as you are leading a room full of stakeholders. You bring a thoughtful, proactive approach to your work, and you're passionate about using innovation to make underwriting smarter and more efficient. You communicate complex ideas with clarity, and you know how to bring others along on the journey.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
  • 2+ years of Life Underwriting experience, with a solid understanding of the application and policy life cycle
  • Proven experience working with automated life insurance underwriting systems and digital health data
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate the role of data in automation, translating technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of designing and implementing process improvements
  • Proficiency in process mapping and documentation tools, with experience in requirements gathering and specification writing

These are additional nice to haves:
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards in life insurance
  • College degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Demonstrated thought leadership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Creative and strategic mindset with a passion for innovation in underwriting
