Your job duties include guiding clients through your organization’s basic services and offerings, determining which might be right for them. You discuss their financial goals and develop a plan to reach them with their preferred amount of risk tolerance. A career as an FSR requires a bachelor’s degree in business or marketing. Sometimes special licensing is required, especially when selling regulated products like insurance. Additional voluntary certifications and experience gained in internships or elsewhere in the financial industry can make you a more competitive candidate when applying to positions. To thrive as a Financial Services Representative, you need strong knowledge of financial products, customer service expertise, and typically a bachelor's degree in finance or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software, financial planning tools, and relevant licenses such as FINRA Series 6 or 7 are often required.
