WEC Business Services LLC, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Intern - Financial Risk in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This internship is full-time during the Summer of 2027. The hourly rate for this internship is $21.30 with paid company holidays.

Job Summary

We employ students for summer and year-round opportunities to help the treasury department manage the financial risk for WEC Energy Group. WEC is searching for an intern to support the insurance and financial risk functions in the treasury department. Students work with experienced members of this teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support Risk Manager and Risk Analyst in managing a sophisticated risk management department
  • Support the information collection and submittal process for insurance renewals
  • Participate in renewal meetings with brokers and insurance carriers
  • Review compliance with insurance provisions for state mandated programs
  • Participate in contract reviews to ensure appropriate insurance provisions are provided
  • Provide Certificates of Insurance and Self Insurance letters internally and externally
  • Support large corporate claims settlements
  • Monitoring Letters of Credits provided by Gas counterparties
  • Information gathering for quarterly credit memos
  • Other tasks as needed

This opportunity will allow you to develop skills and experience in a Fortune 500 Treasury and Insurance Risk Management department including the thought process behind insurance decisions as well as the day to day tasks this department handles.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or closely related degree with a graduation date after June 2027. 
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8
Preferred Qualifications

Cirriculum in one or more of the following:

  • Principals of Risk Management
  • Commercial Insurance
  • Property Insurance
  • Liability Insurance
  • Risk Financing Techniques

End Date: 11/15/2026 

Pay Range Minimum: $21.30

Pay Range Maximum: $24.60

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
