Job description

The Corporate Treasury group of The Walt Disney Company is responsible for managing financial risk and ensuring adequate liquidity for the Company. Treasury oversees bank relationships, foreign exchange (FX) and interest rate hedging programs, financial risk management, financing and capital raising activities, cash management, enterprise consumer payments and directs the investment of retirement assets.

The FX Risk Management team is responsible for managing the Company’s global foreign currency and commodities exposures and related hedging strategies, to mitigate risk and volatility in the Company’s earnings. Additionally, the team manages international liquidity, repatriation efforts and financing needs for the Company’s international subsidiaries.

What you Will Do

The Manager, Foreign Exchange Risk Management is a key member of the Treasury organization and will play a central role in overseeing Disney’s global FX hedging programs. This role combines financial market expertise, derivatives execution and strong communication, judgment, and leadership skills.

The Manager will own core FX risk management processes, lead analytical and communication workstreams, and partner closely with internal stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and business segments. In addition, the Manager will have people management responsibilities and be responsible for the management and development of Analysts and Senior Analysts on the team. There will be opportunities to collaborate with the other Financial Markets groups within Treasury (such as Capital Markets and Pension/Investments).

Specific responsibilities for the Manager, Foreign Exchange Risk Management will include:

  • Overseeing all day‑to‑day aspects of Disney’s global FX hedging programs, including review and enhancement of reporting and analysis used to monitor exposures and positions
  • Managing the FX derivatives portfolio, including data management and documentation, and partnering closely with Accounting to ensure appropriate hedge designation
  • Executing foreign exchange hedge contracts and maintaining hedge coverage in accordance with market dynamics and risk management policy
  • Overseeing continuing process improvements, including leveraging technology and automation where appropriate
  • Leading FX-related forecasting, analysis, and communication, including estimating FX impacts to business-level P&L forecasts as well as enterprise forecasts and earnings-related disclosures
  • Supporting senior Treasury and Finance leadership with analysis and presentations, including preparation for internal Financial Risk Management Committee meetings
  • Managing external relationships related to FX risk management, including banking partners
  • Directly managing and developing Analysts and Senior Analysts, including mentorship and supporting their long-term career growth

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience in a finance role, such as treasury, financial risk management, FP&A, or capital markets
  • Interest in the financial markets, including derivatives and hedging strategies
  • Experience analyzing and communicating financial impacts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage complex workstreams, prioritize competing deadlines, and exercise sound judgment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for senior leadership; willingness to make recommendations and comfortable operating in ambiguity
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new concepts
  • Demonstrated people‑management or team‑leadership experience, or clear readiness to step into a people manager role
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with data analysis, automation, or visualization tools is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in investment banking, corporate treasury, or finance within a large, global corporate environment
  • Familiarity with derivatives accounting and experience collaborating with accounting teams on FX-related matters

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA or similar), preferred

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $139,200 - $170,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
