Director of Risk Management

Peachford Hospital

Atlanta, GA

Peachford Hospital is a 246-bed  private, free-standing behavioral health hospital specializing in psychiatric and addictive disease treatment for adults, seniors, children and adolescents. We strive to meet and respond to the needs of our community by offering a continuum of care and evidenced-based programs for the communities we serve in greater Atlanta.   We have a 50+ year tradition of meeting the needs of those who seek our care.

We are currently seeking an experienced, forward thinking and talented Director of Risk Management to be an integral part of the senior leadership team and play a key role in helping to build a dynamic culture of safe and quality care where employees and patients alike are engaged and find long-term success.  

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for monitoring the facility-wide Risk Management program and ensuring the facility’s program is in compliance with all the regulatory agencies and state and federal agencies. 

Duties include:

  • conducting investigations related to patient safety incidents;
  • risk identification and reduction;
  • managing, analyzing and presenting risk management data;
  • collaborating with clinical leaders to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws as well as regulatory standards;
  • serving as point of contact with regulatory agencies. 

The Director of Risk Management also assists in special projects of the organization involving patient safety, quality improvement, compliance, patient satisfaction and staff education. 


Qualifications

Education: 

B.A. degree in healthcare or nursing, or equivalent experience in hospital risk management preferred.  Graduate from an accredited program of professional healthcare preferred.  CPHRM or CPHQ preferred.

Experience: 

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in healthcare risk management preferred.

Additional Requirements: 

A strong knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and State of Georgia Department of Health standards, and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.  Familiar with medical terminology; demonstrated ability to work constructively with a broad spectrum of healthcare professionals; knowledge and experience in data management and software programs; ability to work discreetly with highly confidential information.
