As Financial Controller, you will help protect the company's financial health, strengthen decision-making, and build scalable systems for the future.What You Will LeadLead all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll coordination, job costing, project accounting, billing support, and month-end close.Prepare reliable, timely, and decision-ready financial statements, forecasts, dashboards, and performance reporting for leadership.Own budgeting, cash flow planning, tax coordination, financial analysis, and business performance review processes.Maintain strong internal controls, segregation of duties, documentation standards, and compliance practices.Coordinate audits, tax filings, external reporting, and federal, state, and local compliance requirements.Partner with project managers to monitor budgets, contracts, billings, work-in-progress, profitability, and financial risk.Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members through clear expectations, accountability, training, and process discipline.Evaluate and improve accounting systems, workflows, reporting tools, and finance department procedures.What You BringBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.Active Louisiana CPA license strongly preferred; CPA or CMA certification preferred.Meaningful tax background, including experience with business tax coordination, federal and state reporting, tax planning support, and work with external tax advisors.7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 to 5 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Finance Manager, or similar leadership role.Experience in AEC, professional services, project-based accounting, or job-cost environments preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, internal controls, and compliance.Experience with accounting systems; Deltek Ajera experience is a plus.Demonstrated leadership ability, including team development, performance management, process ownership, and cross-functional communication.The QES AdvantageExecutive visibility and meaningful influence over financial operations and long-term strategy.A leadership role that balances strategic guidance with hands-on ownership of accounting operations.A values-driven culture grounded in integrity, accountability, trust, and community responsibility.Opportunity to modernize financial systems, reporting cadence, internal controls, and team workflows.Competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match up to 4%, HSA, FSA, employer-paid life and AD&D, employer-paid short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability, paid time off, paid holidays, EAP, and optional voluntary benefits.Ready to lead with purpose, discipline, and financial insight?
