Job description

The opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is searching for a Controller to join our team at Nu Stadium in Miami, Florida. As the Controller, you will perform a variety of accounting functions, including performing financial reporting, consolidating financial results, performing Accounts Payable invoice approvals, and overseeing audit requirements and cash management. You'll collaborate with Miami Freedom Park leadership and corporate accounting to continue enhancing processes and transitions of work. Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $81,900 - $110,600 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?
  • Manage the accounting function at the unit, including direct leadership, supervision, and effective management of the unit accounting and cash room team members
  • Complete audits and ensure the team is knowledgeable of policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, support the annual plan and projection process, provide insightful review of year-over-year changes, and recommend areas of focus to improve operating margins
  • Leads or assists with ad hoc analyses of the finances and prepares reports to facilitate decision-making
More about you
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or an Associate degree in business-related curriculum, and relevant prior accounting experience; it is beneficial if you are a Certified Public Accountant  
  • 3+ years of Accouting Management experience
  • Experience in supervising complex accounting teams, an understanding of finance and accounting processes, and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), PeopleSoft Financials, or similar accounting software
  • Understanding how to drive effective performance management
  • Facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication
  • Excellent client relationship management experience
  • Must be willing to work fully on site, including occasional nights and weekends as required
