Purpose of the role:

The Global Legal Project and Value Pricing Manager plays a critical operational role on global client engagements spanning more than 50 countries. Working with senior legal, business and client leadership, the role manages day-to-day budgeting and coordination of services, ensuring consistent execution across teams, ALSPs and technology platforms. The Manager owns the full budget lifecycle—from annual planning and forecasting through real-time monitoring and reallocation—and acts as the primary financial partner to firm partners and client stakeholders, in collaboration with a global billing coordinator. The Manager also leads legal service delivery efficiency initiatives and the integration of AI and automation into financial workflows, turning manual processes into intelligent, scalable systems and serving as a trusted operational partner for the Firm’s most strategically important client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead annual budget planning and monitoring for complex, value‑based fee arrangements, ensuring real‑time visibility into financial performance.
  • Act as primary financial partner to Partners and client stakeholders on budget planning, spend optimization, and fee arrangements.
  • Develop, manage, and report on multi‑jurisdictional matter budgets in coordination with the Global Billing Coordinator, ensuring compliance with client OCGs.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end project lifecycle for large, cross‑border client programs across 50+ countries, with clear governance and reporting.
  • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams (internal lawyers, local counsel, ALSPs, technology) across time zones and workstreams.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, scheduling conflicts, and resourcing gaps.
  • Support client relationship management through regular reporting, governance meetings, and preparation of materials for partner and executive forums.
  • Prepare communications and presentations to leadership with excellent strategic analysis and insights.
  • Identify, implement, and embed AI‑powered and legal technology tools to improve efficiency, quality, and matter management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of financial management/pricing and legal project management experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or ALSP environment.
  • Deep expertise in legal matter budgeting, AFAs, outside counsel guideline compliance, and/or legal financial reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to prepare and present to senior client and firm leadership.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, use of CoPilot (or similar) and AI tools for project management and workflow.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-jurisdictional legal budgets with meaningful budget responsibility
  • Experience in a dedicated client service or embedded legal ops roles.
  • Exposure to cross-border regulatory, M&A, or commercial matters.
  • Working knowledge of legal AI platforms such as Harvey, Legora, or comparable tools.
