Financial Processor - Cost Basis

Location: 100% Remote (Candidates MUST be local to Scottsdale, AZ or Valley Forge, PA)

Position Type: Full-time

Position Summary

We are seeking a Financial Processor with specialized acumen in cost basis accounting to deliver superior client service on complex accounts. In this role, you will independently research, analyze, and execute processing strategies utilizing advanced systems and tactical procedures. You will also serve as a key resource for the team-providing guidance, training, statement audits, and report analysis to drive unit initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Request Review & Regulatory Compliance: Evaluate complex client requests for accuracy, good order, and alignment with regulatory guidelines; collaborate across divisions to ensure timely resolution.
  • Cost Basis Calculation & Maintenance: Maintain precise cost basis data using proprietary systems, ensuring strict adherence to IRS regulations, legal requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Historical Reconstruction & Verification: Analyze historical records and external firm data to reconstruct and verify the accuracy of cost basis information.
  • Corporate Actions & System Validation: Assess corporate action impacts, audit system-generated outputs for disparities, and adjust data to guarantee accuracy across client-facing platforms.
  • Associate Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, research support, and training to Cost Basis team members while assisting with audits and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree (or equivalent combination of training and experience) preferred; background in accounting, finance, or the brokerage industry strongly preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of brokerage products preferred, with a willingness to upskill in complex areas including Corporate Actions, Options, Margin Accounting, Fixed Income, and Convertible Securities.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research capabilities, with high attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
