Boston Partners Private Wealth is a boutique Registered Investment Advisor managing approximately $500 million in assets. The firm was founded as a multi-family office serving employees and affiliated families and has since expanded to serve a select group of external high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. Our approach combines institutional investment discipline with comprehensive wealth planning, delivered under a fiduciary standard. We emphasize long-term relationships, thoughtful advice, and a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Planner (CFP) with approximately 10+ years of comprehensive financial planning experience. This individual will serve both internal (employee) and external clients and will play a key role in translating investment strategy into clear, actionable planning guidance.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in financial planning, client relationship management, estate and tax planning coordination, and is comfortable working in a dynamic, growth-oriented RIA environment. This role requires strong collaboration across investment, operations, and compliance teams.

Major Responsibilities:

Client Advisory & Planning

  • Lead comprehensive financial planning engagements for high-net-worth clients.
  • Translate investment strategy and portfolio construction into clear, actionable planning recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial plans including:
  • Retirement planning
  • Cash flow modeling
  • Tax planning strategies (in coordination with CPAs)
  • Estate planning implementation (in coordination with attorneys)
  • Risk management and insurance analysis
  • Education planning
  • Charitable and legacy planning
  • Present planning analyses in a confident, concise, and client-friendly manner.
  • Serve as lead or co-lead advisor for select client relationships.
  • Maintain high service standards consistent with a multi-family office model.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and client prospect meetings.

Compliance & Fiduciary Standards:

  • Operate under a fiduciary standard of care at all times.
  • Maintain familiarity with SEC RIA compliance requirements.
  • Ensure client documentation and processes adhere to firm and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in preparing materials for compliance review as needed.

Requirements:

  • CFP designation required.
  • Approximately 10+ years of comprehensive financial planning experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • Estate planning structures and strategies
  • Income tax planning concepts
  • Trust structures and wealth transfer strategies
  • Investment portfolio construction principles
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to communicate complex strategies clearly and confidently.
  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of at least one of the following AI tools: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Copilot.
  • Experience with financial planning software and CRM (Redtail) platforms.
  • Familiarity with Addepar, Black Diamond, or similar reporting systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, and operate effectively in a growing, technologically forward, entrepreneurial environment.
  • High integrity and fiduciary mindset, demonstrating sound judgment, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to acting in clients' best interests.
  • Highly collaborative team player, willing to step beyond defined responsibilities in support of firm growth and shared success.
  • Existing client relationships and/or demonstrated asset-raising capability are strongly preferred.
  • This role requires a full-time, in-office commitment of 5 days per week.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $175,000-225,000.

It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to the base salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
