Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering Commercial Operations recommendations to deliver on the growth strategy for Contract Manufacturing Operating Unit. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy to ensure the effective financial management of commercial processes supporting the CMOU business. This role will manage the commercial processes supporting customer recoveries and related contract adjustments based on manufacturing site performance. The purpose is to maintain profitability for customer programs and ContractManufacturing sites. The role will also manage the CMOU process for developing initial financial models to support investments related to new commercial programs, and tracking assumptions. This role requires strong financial acumen along with a commercial lens and will regularly interface with West Contract Manufacturing cross functional stakeholders including supporting corporate functional groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the contract manufacturing commercial recovery process for Contract Manufacturing Operating Unit to strategically optimize its profitability by working closely with the site operations, finance and commercial teams to collect inputs in support of the recoveries process and creating the rationale for the commercial teams to position these recoveries to customers.
  • Work with Finance team and other relevant functions to proactively identify gaps in commercial financial processes and drive action plans to mitigate the financial risks to improve operating profit using reporting tools.
  • Manage the analysis of customer program financial details and contracts with the intent to identify drivers of financial variances for materials, production volumes, reconciliations, rebates, credits and other financial transactions. This work will include the responsibly for monitoring newly ramped customer programs against the commercial proposal that the program was awarded on, including the capital investment (PER) metrics, where applicable. The intent is to identify financial variances between planned and actual PER revenue, COGS and other financial metrics.
  • For new business opportunities, manage the contract manufacturing pre-PER process, working with cross-functional stakeholders to gather relevant costs to support the investment for the new opportunities. The role will ensure that all calculations are accurate, assumptions are clearly documented and the PER reviewed with finance in advance of the process of socializing the Pre-PER.
  • Manage requests for Growth and Innovation Portfolio PERs to support the strategic growth of Analytical Labs. Ensure that all calculations are accurate, assumptions are clearly documented and reviewed with finance and cross functionals teams in advance of the process for submitting PERs for approval.
  • Partner with cost accounting and site finance team to enhance cost efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining complex financial models to support business planning activities.
  • Liaison with commercial finance leaders to ensure alignment between commercial, finance and operations teams.
  • Contribute to the annual cadence of Contract Manufacturing Strategic Planning process and initiatives, related and ongoing report outs such as Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR, QBR) and contribution/support Contract Manufacturing Senior Leadership Team
  • Identify new opportunities for improvement to commercial financial processes and provide support for on-going process improvements to drive efficiencies.
  • Support integrated dry/wet supply chain models by developing and managing the financial construct
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business Administration with concentration in Finance/Accounting discipline or equivalent experience
Work Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting for manufacturing
  • Preferred contract manufacturing organization. Sales, Marketing or Sales Operations experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Established analytical skills supported by aptitude in Excel for data analysis and manipulation
  • Excellent analytical, project management and communication skills.
  • Competent in graphical reporting platforms such as Power BI Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Should have zeal towards customers experience and continuous improvements. Knowledge of security roles and field level security principles and application.
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all times
  • Global commercial experience in a matrix organization, preferably in a multi-national manufacturing organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP HANA, CRM (i.e., Salesforce) and DocuSign.
  • Ability to prepare and present clear and concise information to all levels of management and staff (including effective visual graphics.)
  • Driven and accountable self-starter, with ability to identify and communicate priorities, and work independently in a fast-paced industry at a rapidly growing organization.
  • Strong organization and detail-oriented skillset, driving towards firm payout deadlines.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Able to maintain the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality.
