Responsible for a major portion of processing operations in a plant. The operations manager is a senior role which involves overseeing the production of goods and/or provision of services. It's an operations manager's job to make sure an organization is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of customers and clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Promotes good relations with community, government agencies and customers.
  • Leads the team and represents the organization by positive example.
  • Act as the overall management authority for the day to day production planning, manufacturing and shipment of each production program. (Authority to make tactical decisions across functional areas).
  • Ownership of department safety, quality, and on-time-delivery performance.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the business unit.
  • Achieve business plan financial performance in all areas of influence.
  • Serve as a key link between Human Resources and production supervision in the management of safety, engineering and manufacturing staffing, staff utilization and performance coaching.
  • Lead, coach, or influence all direct and indirect employees affiliated with the business unit. This includes not only the Production Team Leaders and Operators but also the Manufacturing/CI/Engineering resources.
  • Responsible for staffing allocations between all production programs to maximize efficiency.
  • Serve as a key link between all functions of the business as they support the manufacturing process.
  • Execute planned production for current and upcoming production programs.
  • Drive production organization in execution of timely deliveries that support production program requirements.
  • Assist/coordinate with other organizational functions in the identification and implementation of process improvements.
  • Observe, support and contribute to Company safety programs, policies, and initiatives, ensuring a culture of safe work habits is prevalent within the organization.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Management or related field. 7+ years of relevant leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and lean applications.

  • Demonstrated understanding of business acumen
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Aerospace, understanding the requirements of government and commercial customers
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Program Management experience/understanding
