The primary purpose of this position is to serves as on-site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC), Financial Services Division and exercise first level supervisory and managerial authorities over assigned Travel Review or Travel Computation Team.

1. Serves as the senior financial manager for the team. As the team's senior financial manager, the incumbent serves as the technical expert for the wide-array of travel claim types, to include Permanent Change of Station (PCS) and Temporary Duty (TDY) for active duty and Title 10 reserve military, as well as Department of the Air Force (DAF) civilians.
2. Represents the Travel Pay Processing Teams with a variety of DoD, Air Force, higher headquarters, and functional area organizations.
3. Promotes Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Practices. Promotes efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Recommends, and encourages subordinates to bring forth any process and system improvement ideas that could save time, eliminate rework, and/or increase customer travel payments.
4. Performs first level supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of assigned Travel Pay or Travel Computation team.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions.
General experience: I have, or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement will have, 3 years general experience, 1 year of which is equivalent to experience at the next lower grade (GS-04), level, pay band (NH-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc.)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of and skill in applying laws and regulations governing accounting, travel pay, disbursing/collecting, resource management, debt management, system administration and the management internal control program.
2. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with and gain the cooperation of various levels of management within the federal and/or private sector.
3. Knowledge of budget and procurement regulations and practices.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. Knowledge of Labor-Management guidelines and agreements.
7. Knowledge of personnel, EEO, safety and security regulations, practices and procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
