Job description

Responsibilities
Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Financial Coordinator to join our team. The Financial Coordinator will report directly to the facility CFO and is responsible for verifying patient insurance and providing patients with financial counseling for self-pay accounts. The Financial Coordinator is responsible for maintaining patient demographic information, verify insurance eligibility, obtain patient deductibles, and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required. College preferred
  • Experience in a hospital insurance verification/self-pay in business office setting
  • Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in the AS400 and Microsoft Windows systems
  • Ability to handle multiple duties in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance plans and their benefit requirements.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with all levels of staff and/or patient population in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability in the financial area of collection of patient co-pays, negotiation of self-pay situations and appropriate credit card usage
  • Strong knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Possession of strong problem solving skills and sound judgment
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Knowledge of verification websites such as Navinet, PEAR, Promise (EVS) etc
  • Ability to be proactive and take initiative
