Senior Customs Brokerage Entry Writer

LOCATION

Mendota Heights, MN

SALARY RANGE

$60,000 - $75,000 / year

Position Summary

The Senior Customs Brokerage Entry Writer delivers a high level of customer service to Radiant’s clients while ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs requirements. This role builds strong working relationships across internal teams, customers, and outside partners, and may take on additional duties as operational needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities
ENTRY & DOCUMENTATION
  • Enter customs data and prepare entries with a high degree of accuracy.
  • File Importer Security Filings (ISF / 10+2) for inbound shipments.
  • Generate and manage files in the EDI trade system.
  • Conduct pre-clearance review of all import documentation.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import compliance requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end documentation for USMCA cross-border shipments, ensuring strict compliance with trade regulations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
  • Classify goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) across all chapters.
SHIPMENT COORDINATION
  • Track cargo from booking through final delivery, ensuring a smooth, end-to-end process.
  • Coordinate with trucking companies to schedule inbound shipments.
  • Work with freight forwarders, brokers, and other transportation partners to keep freight moving.
  • Identify and resolve shipping delays or issues quickly.
  • Collaborate with internal staff, overseas offices, and third parties to maintain service quality.
CUSTOMER & FINANCIAL
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout their shipping process.
  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly and follow up to confirm resolution.
  • Review and apply the financial components of each shipment, and invoice customers accurately.
  • Meet and uphold internal customer service standards.
  • Take on other duties and assignments as business needs require.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 3 years of customs brokerage experience.
  • Data entry experience with strong attention to detail.
  • Background in transportation or logistics is required.
REGULATORY & COMPLIANCE KNOWLEDGE
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import compliance.
  • USMCA experience.
  • HTS classification experience across all chapters of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
  • Certified Customs Specialist Certification is a plus.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with transportation management (TM) systems is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $60,000–$75,000 annually.

Starting pay reflects education, experience, skills, and job-related knowledge; ranges may be adjusted over time.
