Role Summary
Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for a Senior Accountant (Senior Associate) to support financial reporting, technical accounting, and REIT compliance processes. This role will be responsible for executing key reporting deliverables, preparing supporting analyses, and assisting in technical accounting and REIT-related workflows.
The position will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting, and work closely with Accounting, FP&A, Capital Markets, Investor Relations, and cross-functional teams across the organization.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% for company gatherings or for site visits.
Location: Denver, CO (hybrid in-office role)
Compensation: $110-$135K (Offers Bonus)
Essential Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Close (Core Execution)
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting schedules
  • Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Assist in preparation of external reporting deliverables for: Auditors, Lenders, Investors & External Advisors
  • Support preparation of financial statement footnotes, including support for complex and non-routine transactions
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data across entities, projects, and joint ventures

Technical Accounting Support
  • Assist in research and documentation under U.S. GAAP, including:
    • Revenue recognition (ASC 606 and ASC 842)
    • Consolidation (ASC 810)
    • Debt and equity (ASC 470, ASC 480)
    • Real estate accounting (ASC 970)
  • Prepare initial drafts of technical accounting memos and supporting analyses
  • Support accounting for complex transactions, including development activities and capital projects
  • Assist in maintaining accounting policies and documentation

REIT Reporting & Compliance Support
  • Prepare schedules supporting REIT compliance processes, including:
    • Income and asset testing (75% / 95%)
    • Assist with real property analysis under 26 CFR § 1.856-10
  • Support revenue and asset classification analyses (rent vs. service; real property vs. non-qualifying assets)
  • Maintain documentation and support packages for REIT compliance and external advisor review
  • Coordinate with Accounting and Tax to ensure completeness and accuracy of REIT-related data

ERP & Process Support
  • Assist with ERP implementation efforts, including:
    • Data validation
    • Testing accounting workflows
    • Supporting reporting structures
  • Support development of processes to capture data required for:
    • Financial reporting
    • REIT compliance
  • Identify and implement process improvements within close and reporting cycles

Execution & Ownership
  • Own assigned accounting areas and deliverables end-to-end
  • Deliver accurate and timely outputs in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactively identify issues and escalate to the Senior Manager as appropriate
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support business initiatives

Education, Skills, and Experience
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-6+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capability
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred:
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Experience in Public accounting (Big 4 or national firm preferred)
  • Experience in Infrastructure, real estate, or data center environments
  • Exposure to Lease accounting (ASC 842)
  • Exposure to technical accounting research and memo preparation
  • Exposure to REIT concepts or compliance processes
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, or similar)
