Job Description

The Financial Reporting Associate will assist with and support the preparation of the quarterly financial reporting package, monthly filings, and ad hoc requests for one or more SEC-reporting real estate funds. Public accounting experience and familiarity with financial statements and related footnotes, such as a 10-Q or 10-K, is preferred. The ability to work under tight deadlines, maintain data integrity, support audit/review requests, and demonstrate strong attention to detail is imperative.The position may require overtime work during month-end and quarter-end reporting. The Associate will be an integral member of a 7-person team and will be expected to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with the broader team and seeking guidance when appropriate.


Essential Job Duties

  • Timely and accurate preparation of quarterly and monthly reporting packages, including portfolio and financial metrics
  • Timely and accurate preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Maintain and organize financial and portfolio data
  • Assist in preparation of marketing materials, presentations, and due diligence requests
  • Prepare and maintain support work papers
  • Perform financial tie-outs of ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Assist in coordination with the auditors during their reviews and audits
  • Assist in researching and summarizing accounting guidance and new accounting standards, including supporting the assessment of applicability to the funds
  • Assist in maintaining reporting processes and procedures
  • Assist with ad hoc requests and reporting
  • Complete other duties or special projects as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Position typically requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 2-4 years applicable finance/accounting experience.
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA designation, public accounting experience, and/or financial reporting experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Detail oriented with ability to effectively manage assigned priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines required.
  • Advanced Excel and Word application skills required.
  • Must be a good listener, proactive, collaborative problem-solver, self-motivated and a team-oriented individual.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information required.
  • High ethical standards required.
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and work independently on assigned tasks with appropriate guidance required.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$80,000 - $95,000
