Location: Wellesley, MA. Hybrid schedule with approximately 3 to 4 days per week on-site and flexibility to work remotely the remainder of the week.

Note: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least 5 years of accounting experience. Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar Blackbaud accounting software is strongly preferred. CPA designation is highly desired but not required. Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred.

Job Description

  • Oversee general accounting operations including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements, reports, and analyses for leadership
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors
  • Oversee nonprofit compliance requirements, including Form 990 support and related filings
  • Maintain strong internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial documentation
  • Collaborate with finance leadership and senior administrators on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
  • Prepare financial information and reporting materials for leadership and board committees
  • Utilize Blackbaud Financial Edge and Excel to support accounting operations and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and financial controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience required
  • Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with audits, financial reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
