Financial Controller

Dental Choice | West Edmonton, AB
Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Dental Choice is seeking an experienced Controller to join our growing organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will lead a team of six accounting professionals and oversee all financial operations, including financial reporting, cash flow management, payroll, banking relationships, acquisitions, compliance, and process improvements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic and hands-on finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the Accounting Team.
  • Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury functions, and banking relationships.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and financial analysis.
  • Support clinic acquisitions, due diligence, and integrations.
  • Monitor financial KPIs and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Develop and improve financial systems, processes, and automation.
  • Manage relationships with banks, external accountants, vendors, and joint venture partners.
  • Participate in strategic planning and support the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, cash flow management, payroll, and budgeting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems; NetSuite experience is an asset, experience with acquisitions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
