POSITION SUMMARY
The Finance Systems Manager will support the Workday Financials - including Adaptive Planning- implementation for the Enterprise. Post implementation, the role will serve as the administrator for Workday Finance leading the ongoing administration, optimization, governance, and support of the Workday Financials platform as well as act as finance liaison in supporting operations facing non-revenue finance systems. This role is an accounting professional, sitting within the accounting team, who serves as the bridge between Technology and operational Finance users for Workday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Implementation
  • Participate in assigned Finance implementation meetings, task/action item completion, and support testing for assigned areas.
  • Support change management initiatives including documentation of change, communication to finance teams, updating/maintaining mapping tools, coordination of change and roll out of change in legacy systems, where necessary.
  • Support testing during each phase of the project through testing administration and coordination of testing performed by others.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to drive user adoption, process optimization, and operational readiness through development of training materials for assigned Finance areas and support of training efforts.
  • Lead Finance post-go-live stabilization and hyper care activities. Coordinate issue triage, enhancement prioritization, testing, and defect remediation activities across internal teams and external partners during implementation and post-go-live.

System Administration - Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning
  • Serve as the strategic owner of the enterprise finance systems ecosystem, including Workday Financials, Workday Adaptive Planning, and financial report development.
  • Administer, maintain and optimize the Foundation Data Model (FDM) in Workday and configuration in Adaptive Planning: cost centers, business units, Spend & Revenue categories, Worktags, and hierarchical roll-ups, ensuring coordination with HR/Scheduling partners. Develop best practices for driving simplification, and standardization in the above.
  • Lead ongoing configuration, enhancement, prioritization, optimization, and governance of Workday Financials changes.
  • Partner closely with Accounting and FP&A teams to continuously improve financial processes, reporting, and budgeting/forecasting through automation and best practices. Lead Finance configuration in Workday and roll out of approved projects.
  • Implement monitoring controls, exception reporting, and scalable governance processes.
  • Develop and implement processes to manage and maintain the Finance Business Unit manager assignment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Adaptive Planning and Workday Finance system issues and support tickets, working with internal teams and vendors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements. Through configuration and management/assignement of security roles, maintain segregation of duties and security roles.
  • Continuously assess opportunities to modernize the Workday Finance technology stack and reduce manual operational processes
  • Ensure consistency across reporting structures, worktags, security models, and dimensional governance
  • Support system enhancements, upgrades, testing activities, and semi-annual new feature deployments.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, process documentation, and user training materials.

  • Partner with FP&A and Accounting stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into scalable system enhancements.
  • Act as finance champion for operational non-revenue systems impacting the general ledger through interfaces or integrations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of enterprise financial systems experience in a mid-large size business at a Managerial level.
  • Experience implementing larger scale systems as a key or Core team member.
  • Strong foundation in GAAP, general ledger accounting, close processes, AP/AR and accounting internal controls.

  • Strong project management abilities and clear communication skills for non-technical stakeholders.
