Responsibilities
Financial Shared Services is looking to hire a Sr. Finance Assistant in Bloomington, IL. Financial Shared Services supports many areas for both State Farm employees and State Farm customers - from compensation services, expense processing, and money movement.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Process direct deposit updates for both active and inactive agents, ensuring the accurate setup, verification, and maintenance of agents' banking information used for commission and compensation payments
  • Research returned deposits and process replacement entries/updates, troubleshooting other payment issues related to bank information
  • Balance monthly controls to reconcile financial accounts, maintaining audit ready documentation
  • Follow compliance procedures for handling sensitive banking and identity information
  • Manage mailbox communication with agents/sales leaders to process various requests and perform problem resolution; escalating exceptions, complex cases, and suspected issues to the appropriate team(s)
  • Assists with the completion of subpoenas and legal requests, coordination of benefits, and military pay
  • Review of requested materials sent by Agency to verify completion/accuracy
  • Utilize a check list to assess agents' use of internal controls to manage Premium Funding Account risks
  • Work closely with key business partners, including Human Resources & Development, Legal, Agency, and Enterprise Technology

Qualifications
The following skills, background, and/or experiences are preferred, but not required:
  • Experience with Rumba Host/Mainframe, Coupa, Control D, Adobe, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Prior experience in payments, payroll operations, banking operations, ACH, or compensation administration
  • High attention to detail and strong accuracy with data entry/updates
  • Experience handling sensitive information (PII/financial data) with discretion
  • Strong process discipline: ability to follow procedures, checklists, and controls
  • Customer/agent service mindset: professional communication, issue resolution
  • Strong organizational skills while working on multiple different assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under pressure
  • Teamwork/effective team communication and a positive work mindset
  • Innovator: openness to spark positive process transformation while working through organizational shifts

Hybrid Work Location: Bloomington, IL-Corporate
Hybrid Work arrangement: A "Hybrid" position means selected candidates will be assigned to a facility and will spend some time working both in the office and from their home. Work arrangements could change over time based on business need. This role may be structured as either working 35-50% in the office or completing 8-10 days per month in the office, depending on operational requirements.
