Financial Analyst SME II
This position requires an active Top Secret clearance to start
A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.
The Financial Analyst provides analytical and financial management support to Army programs by reviewing, reconciling, and reporting on financial data across multiple systems. This role supports the accuracy and integrity of commitments, obligations, and disbursements, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and audit readiness standards. The analyst leverages systems such as GFEBS and other financial tools to identify discrepancies, resolve financial issues, and support data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced government environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Financial Analyst: $110,000 - $120,000
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Financial Analyst Responsibilities Include:
  • Export, organize, analyze, and consolidate large volumes of financial data to support reporting and decision-making
  • Provide financial support utilizing GFEBS and other Army financial systems
  • Review, analyze, and interpret financial documents and reports against established metrics and controls
  • Analyze commitments, obligations, and disbursements for accuracy using GFEBS ERP and BI tools
  • Research and resolve Unliquidated Obligations (ULOs) and Unmatched Transactions (UMTs), including coordination with DFAS for corrections to Lines of Accounting (LOA)
  • Coordinate with DFAS, DCMA, Contracting Officers, and Budget Analysts to resolve financial discrepancies across systems
  • Utilize financial and contracting systems (e.g., SOMARDS, MOCAS, EDA, WAWF, SDW) to research and reconcile financial and contracting actions
  • Support financial reporting, research, and documentation for special projects and ad hoc requests
  • Ensure financial data accuracy and support audit readiness initiatives
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders to support informed decision-making
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Financial Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or federal financial management
  • Experience analyzing and managing large financial datasets
  • Hands-on experience with GFEBS (ERP and BI) for financial analysis and reporting
  • Experience reviewing commitments, obligations, and disbursements for accuracy
  • Experience researching and resolving ULOs and UMTs
  • Experience coordinating with DFAS, DCMA, contracting officers, and budget analysts
  • Familiarity with financial and contracting systems (SOMARDS, MOCAS, EDA, WAWF, SDW)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret financial data and communicate results effectively
  • This position requires an active Top Secret clearance to start
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
