What will you be doing?

As a Financial Analyst, you will work alongside all our departments to prepare and analyze management reporting, annual budgets and forecasts as it relates to Canadian Government funding. Responsibilities include:

  • Actively participating in the annual budget process and working closely with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Performing month-end variance analysis to budget and provide commentary, monitor key performance indicators and present key findings.
  • Working with senior leadership team to obtain monthly business commentary and prepare presentations to communicate monthly financial results to Board of Directors.
  • Leading process improvement projects to automate financial reporting.
  • Effectively using our ERP systems, NetSuite and Day Care Works, to extract and analyze data.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of work experience as a Financial Analyst in Financial Planning & Analysis
  • University degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Interest in or actively pursuing a CPA designation
  • Experience in Childcare is a plus
  • Experience with Government funding is preferred
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Highly organized and focused; works well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills; a clear and concise writer
  • Some knowledge/interest in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), particularly in data extraction and report creation
