OverviewReporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Finance, the Commercial Financial Analyst will drive data-driven insights and automation to accelerate customer development. The ideal candidate will deliver costing and pricing analyses and partner on digitization initiatives that enhance product and customer profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer, product, and category margin analyses, delivering actionable pricing and profitability recommendations to support profitable growth.
  • Automate recurring reporting, pricing, variance, and reconciliation workflows using Power Query, Power BI, Python/VBA, or advanced Excel — reducing manual effort and improving accuracy, consistency, and turnaround time.
  • Validate model outputs and analyses against baselines and source data before release, maintaining accuracy and audit-ready controls.
  • Apply AI tools (Claude, Copilot, or similar) to read and transform large data files, draft and audit analytical logic, document models, and accelerate analysis — leading process-improvement initiatives across Commercial Finance workflows.
  • Translate specialized pricing and costing business logic into auditable, automated tools, and partner with the SAP and digitization initiatives to help transition that logic toward enterprise systems as they mature — including maintaining the accuracy and integrity of underlying master data (customer pricing, promotional accruals, custom setups).
  • Document model logic, assumptions, and methodologies to support continuity, knowledge transfer, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, and Operations throughout the project lifecycle to understand business needs, challenge assumptions, and propose scalable solutions, including other ad-hoc analysis and business transformation projects as required. 

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of relevant commercial experience in a financial analytical capacity is required (food manufacturing preferred).
  • University Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Advanced excel skills and financial/scenario modeling analysis.
  • Experience with Power Query, Power BI, VBA, Python, or other automation and data visualization tools considered an asset.  
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems, with interest in digital/AI integrations.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and automation mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-driven and adaptable in a fast-paced, digital environment.
  • Ability to reliably commute to the office in North York, ON for work.
