  • Familiarity with VMware virtualization architecture and cost related architectural considerations.
  • Understanding of storage, computing, and network virtualization fundamentals and associated cost factors.
  • Experience analyzing vendor proposals and licensing models.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief leadership clearly.
  • Experience with cloud cost management or FinOps tooling.
  • Familiarity with showback/chargeback models and tagging standards.
  • Understanding of VMware licensing constructs and common technical configurations.

**This position is located on site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days/week**

  • Calculate and model cost savings across hardware, software, maintenance, and operations.
  • Build and maintain Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or other BI based financial models and dashboards.
  • Develop financial structures and comparisons for CapEx and OpEx across cloud and on prem solutions.
  • Construct total cost of ownership (TCO) and return on investment (ROI) models for virtualization platforms.
  • Forecast budgets for maintenance renewals, hardware refresh cycles, and multi year spending projections.
  • Apply knowledge of VMware virtualization architecture to understand cost impacts of design decisions.
  • Assess storage, compute, and network virtualization factors — including dedupe, compression, and scalability — and quantify their cost implications.
  • Translate technical cost savings data into clear, concise executive level summaries and recommendations.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, licensing models, and platform options for financial impacts and risks.
  • Collaborate with PMO, engineering, procurement, and finance to ensure consistent financial assumptions and alignment with program goals.
