Job Description Summary

Lead the product line reporting function for the Life business, with responsibility for the integrity, analysis, and communication of financial results across applicable accounting and capital reporting frameworks. Provide leadership and insight into business performance, partnering closely with Actuarial, FP&A, Capital Management, Investments, business leaders, and other Finance teams. Lead a team of finance professionals responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting and analysis while supporting evolving enterprise reporting requirements and strategic initiatives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quarterly financial reporting and close process for the Life product line across IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and capital reporting frameworks, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial results and management reporting.

  • Provide insight into financial performance by identifying and communicating key drivers, trends, risks, and emerging issues to Finance and business leadership.

  • Partner closely with Actuarial, FP&A, Capital Management, Investments, business units, and other Finance teams to ensure alignment and transparency in financial results and analysis.

  • Provide Finance leadership and subject matter expertise for business initiatives, accounting and reporting changes, and other enterprise priorities affecting the Life business.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, establishing priorities, allocating resources, and maintaining effective execution across recurring reporting requirements and strategic initiatives.

  • Maintain effective financial reporting processes and controls, serving as SOX process owner and overseeing the evaluation and resolution of reporting errors and control deficiencies.

  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting, analytics, data, and processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and business insight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience

  • 12 years of accounting/finance experience including eight years of management experience

  • Extensive knowledge of assigned business area (e.g. investments, premiums, corporate finance)

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, to diverse audiences

  • Organizational and prioritization skills

  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel and financial business systems


Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA and/or advanced degree.

  • Experience within the life insurance or financial services industry.

  • Experience with insurance financial reporting, including IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP.

  • Experience partnering with actuarial and finance functions to analyze financial results and capital performance.


Working Conditions

  • Hybrid (In Office: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays)

The Salary for this position generally ranges between$159,000 - $211,000 annually/per hour.Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors includingqualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.
