Position Overview:


The Finance Intern will support BUILD Renewables' finance team by assisting with project cost tracking, financial reporting, forecasting, and operational finance activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to the financial processes that support renewable energy project delivery and corporate operations.


The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and interested in learning how finance supports large-scale construction and renewable energy projects.


Essential Functions:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist with project cost tracking and financial reporting
  • Support monthly forecasting and budgeting activities
  • Analyze project cost trends and variances
  • Maintain financial spreadsheets and reporting tools
  • Assist with KPI and dashboard reporting

Project Finance Support

  • Support invoice review and processing
  • Assist with cost coding and reconciliation
  • Organize financial documentation and records
  • Help monitor project financial performance

Business Operations

  • Participate in department meetings and planning discussions
  • Collaborate with operations and project teams
  • Support process improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in renewable energy, construction, or project finance
  • Experience with financial modeling or reporting tools
  • Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems

Working Conditions:

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
