Job description

Our client, a growing organization within the government contracting sector, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support accounting operations, ERP optimization initiatives, and compliance requirements. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong government contracting experience and expertise in NetSuite. This is a potential contract-to-hire role that will be onsite (hybrid flexibility) in Raleigh, NC.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Drive the cleanup, optimization, and ongoing enhancement of the NetSuite ERP environment.
  • Ensure accounting processes and financial reporting align with government contracting requirements and compliance standards.
  • Support DCAA audit readiness by maintaining accurate documentation, improving processes, and strengthening internal controls.
  • Assist with indirect rate calculations, cost allocation methodologies, and project accounting activities.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting schedules.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic financial initiatives and operational goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a government contracting environment and DCAA Compliance.
  • Strong understanding of government contracting accounting requirements and compliance standards.
  • Proven experience working within and optimizing NetSuite ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting audits, internal controls, and financial process improvements.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
