Job Description:

We're looking for a Financial Planning Analyst (18-Month Contract) to support key financial planning, forecasting, and analytics initiatives that help drive decision-making. This role partners closely with Logistics, Supply Chain, and Finance stakeholders to develop financial models, uncover cost-saving opportunities, and provide actionable insights that influence business performance. You'll gain exposure to enterprise-wide logistics operations while leading impactful analysis related to freight costs, budgeting, forecasting, process improvements, and operational efficiencies. What You'll Do:

  • This position performs financial planning, data modeling and ad hoc analysis to support various operational initiatives including plan and forecast submission.

  • Provides data-driven, actionable insights that inform and guide decision-making for Logistics operational leadership.

  • Act as a subject matter expert to identify cost saving opportunities and mitigate business risks.

  • Participate in Finance initiatives of departmental process improvements and contribute to efforts to improve operational efficiency and automation; support overall Finance and/or Supply Chain initiatives and projects.

  • Prepare various time-sensitive financial reports (including flash reports, quarter-end packages, payment files, freight costs, spend reports, GL reconciliation) for presentation and approval from senior leaders.

  • Maintain, update, and investigate variance explanations on financial plans related to budgets and forecasts.

  • Develop strong partnerships with other Finance teams and Logistics operational stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate sharing of information and insights.

About You:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Finance/Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce/Economics); working towards business related designation (e.g., CPA) is an asset.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of financial analysis, budgeting/forecasting, and modeling experience; experience supporting Logistics or Supply Chain Operations is an asset.

  • Proven experience with financial modelling and data analytics to support business initiatives.

  • Proven analytical & problem-solving skills including the analysis of complex information, research skills, and knowledge of database design and manipulation concepts.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to adapt communication styles to suit a wide variety of audiences.

  • Ability to work in a detail-oriented, multi-project environment while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Strong independent work ethic: able to drive results, accurately estimate time required to complete projects, initiative follow-up, and keep appropriate stakeholders or peers aware of progress.

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills including Word, Excel (able to efficiently and accurately manage, sort, and analyze large data sets), PowerPoint.

  • Experience with ERP software (i.e. Oracle), databases (i.e. TM1); experience using SQL, Alteryx, running and creating Macros/VBA code and/or data manipulation tools (Power Bi, Tableau) is an asset.
