The Accounting Associate is responsible for managing a portfolio of small businesses whose bookkeeping they own. They are an integral piece of a team that's helping great customers get an even better experience.
Here's How You Make an Impact:
  • Acting as the trusted advisor and accounting department for Wave's small business clients.
  • Responsible for owning bookkeeping accounts for clients within their portfolio in order to meet individual revenue targets and contribute to the team's overall revenue targets. 
  • Supporting clients by using Wave's software to import and categorize transactions, reconcile their accounts, complete monthly bookkeeping, generate their financial statements, and flag potential bookkeeping issues with their clients. 
  • Using judgment to set appropriate expectations with clients and being able to meet or exceed these expectations.
  • Meeting with clients on virtual calls on a recurring schedule to review their books.
  • Clearly conveying accounting concepts in lay terms to the client and answering any bookkeeping-related questions.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and building trusting relationships with clients by demonstrating accounting expertise on review calls and offering timely responses to clients via email.
  • Collaborating with peers and supporting other members of the team by sharing their experiences with the team.

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • 0-2 years of general work experience.
  • Previous experience in cloud accounting.
  • Customer-centric mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Stellar communication skills with the ability to convey accounting concepts in lay terms.
  • Attention to detail is critical in this role.
  • Resourcefulness.
  • Previous working experience with small businesses is a plus.
$51,000 - $51,000 a year
Final compensation is determined based on experience, expertise, and role alignment. Most candidates are hired within the middle of the range, with the upper end reserved for those bringing exceptional depth, impact, and immediate autonomy.
