Job description

The Process Automation Manager leads the IT Process Automation team and is accountable for establishing and executing the Bank's automation strategy, systems administration, and workflow optimization initiatives. This role drives the delivery of secure, scalable, and standardized automation solutions that reduce manual effort, improve operational efficiency, strengthen governance, and enhance end-to-end service delivery for internal business partners.

This position provides both strategic direction and operational oversight, ensuring alignment with enterprise technology standards, risk management practices, and business priorities.

Responsibilities
Automation Strategy & Governance

Develop, implement, and continuously evolve the Bank's enterprise automation strategy and roadmap.
Establish and enforce standards for automation design, development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
Lead the Automation Solution Design Group to evaluate requests, prioritize initiatives, and ensure appropriate solution selection.
Identify process optimization opportunities and risks, proactively mitigating potential operational, compliance, and security exposures.
Promote consistent governance, including change management, separation of duties, and audit readiness across all automation platforms.
Champion automation best practices and drive enterprise adoption through education, communication, and advocacy.

Systems Administration & Platform Ownership

Oversee administration and performance of enterprise automation and workflow platforms, including SharePoint, Nautilus, DocuSign, UiPath, and future technologies.
Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with IT architecture and information security standards.
Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and configuration changes in coordination with IT and vendor partners.
Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, renewals, and statements of work.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance automation capabilities and scalability.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

Lead, coach, and develop a team of automation professionals, including system administrators, analysts, and developers.
Establish clear performance expectations, measurable goals, and accountability for outcomes.
Oversee hiring, workforce planning, training, and performance management activities.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment aligned with a one-team mindset.
Drive cross-training and skill development to build team depth and resilience.

Delivery, Operations & Collaboration

Partner with business leaders and the Process Automation team to align priorities with organizational needs.
Oversee delivery of automation solutions, ensuring timely, accurate, and customer-focused implementation.
Serve as an escalation point for complex automation issues and ensure effective resolution.
Allocate team resources across operational support and project initiatives.
Provide regular reporting and insights on team performance, system utilization, and automation impact to support decision-making, budgeting, and forecasting.
Collaborate with IT and Information Security to ensure all solutions meet enterprise standards and compliance requirements.

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8 - 10 years of experience in process automation, systems administration, workflow design, or related disciplines.
Experience leading or influencing technical and/or cross-functional teams, with the ability to drive outcomes through collaboration and accountability.
Demonstrated experience implementing, supporting, or optimizing enterprise automation platforms (e.g., RPA, workflow, content management, and e-signature solutions).
Experience operating within regulated environments (e.g., financial services) and supporting governance, risk, and compliance requirements is preferred.
