CONFIDENTIAL SEARCH โ€“ Finance Manager (Special Projects)

Location: San Antonio, TX
Compensation: Up to $130,000 base (DOE)
Reports to: CFO

The Opportunity

Weโ€™re conducting a confidential search for a Finance Manager, Special Projects to join a high-impact team with direct exposure to executive leadership. Reporting to the CFO, this role sits at the intersection of FP&A, operational finance, and strategic execution.

Youโ€™ll play a critical role in driving financial performance, improving processes, and supporting key business decisions across the organization. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys owning work end-to-end.

What Youโ€™ll Do Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Own P&L analysis, delivering clear insights, variance reporting, and actionable recommendations
  • Lead forecasting and financial modeling efforts in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Manage the annual budgeting process using Vena for planning, reporting, and analysis
  • Prepare and present financial reporting packages to executive leadership
  • Ensure alignment between financial results and business strategy
Operational & Payroll Finance
  • Oversee payroll financial reporting and ensure accuracy and strong controls
  • Conduct payroll-related reviews and audits tied to financial statements
  • Partner with HR and Accounting to track payroll trends against budget and actuals
  • Review expense approvals to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Lead cost accounting analysis, identifying key cost drivers and optimization opportunities
Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional projects with high visibility across the organization
  • Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives
  • Provide deep-dive financial analysis to support strategic priorities
  • Support ad hoc requests from the CFO and executive leadership
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A or corporate finance
  • Strong hands-on experience with Vena (required)
