POSITION SUMMARY:
This position serves as the finance-side owner of systems transformation, workflow design, process automation, data governance, system adoption, and Oracle implementation coordination. The role reports directly to the CFO and partners closely with the Enterprise Controller, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Treasury & Debt Manager, Operations, IT, shared services, and implementation consultants.
The purpose of the role is to build structure, discipline, documentation, adoption, and repeatable workflows so Finance and Accounting can operate with less dependency on individual institutional knowledge and more reliance on well-designed systems and processes.
Responsibilities
Finance Systems & Oracle Transformation
  • Lead finance-side coordination of Oracle implementation activities, including requirements gathering, issue tracking, testing, training, workflow design, data readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Maintain the implementation roadmap, open issue log, decision log, testing status, risk register, and action-item tracker for Finance leadership.
  • Coordinate with Oracle consultants, IT, Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Operations, project teams, and shared services to resolve blockers and keep implementation work moving.
  • Translate finance and accounting process needs into system requirements, user stories, test scripts, reporting requirements, and practical workflow changes.

Workflow Redesign & Process Improvement
  • Map current-state and future-state processes across AP, AR, payroll interfaces, project accounting, job costing, procurement, billing, month-end close, approvals, intercompany, and reporting.
  • Identify manual workarounds, duplicate entry, unclear ownership, control gaps, data issues, and process breakdowns; lead practical efforts to reduce or eliminate them.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Controller to align system workflows with accounting operations, close discipline, controls, and escalation processes.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, process maps, workflow documentation, and practical user guidance.

Data Governance & Reporting Enablement
  • Support governance over key finance master data, including entities, chart of accounts, projects, cost codes, vendors, customers, intercompany relationships, approval hierarchies, and reporting dimensions.
  • Help establish ownership, approval rules, and change controls for master data creation and modification.
  • Coordinate reporting requirements with Financial Reporting, FP&A, Treasury, Accounting, and Operations to improve accuracy, usability, and consistency of Oracle-driven reporting.
  • Validate system reports and data outputs against accounting records, close packages, management reporting, and business requirements.

System Adoption, Training & Change Management
  • Lead user adoption activities, training coordination, communication routines, and practical support for finance and operational users.
  • Identify areas where users continue to work outside the system and help transition those activities into controlled, repeatable processes.
  • Create targeted training materials, user guides, quick-reference tools, and issue-resolution playbooks.
  • Promote consistent system usage while escalating recurring errors, resistance, or process breakdowns to the appropriate functional leader.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Operations, or a related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in finance systems, ERP implementation, finance transformation, accounting operations, business process improvement, or related roles preferred.
  • Oracle experience strongly preferred; experience with other major ERP platforms such as SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems also valued.
  • Strong understanding of AP, AR, payroll interfaces, project accounting, job costing, month-end close, reporting, approvals, and internal controls.
  • Experience with process mapping, requirements gathering, UAT, issue tracking, change management, system adoption, SOP development, and cross-functional project execution.
  • Project management experience required; PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CPA, CMA, Oracle certifications, or related credentials a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills required; experience with Power BI, SQL, reporting tools, workflow tools, or data visualization platforms preferred.
  • Experience in construction, EPC, manufacturing, renewable energy, project-based businesses, multi-entity organizations, or shared services environments preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, accounting teams, operations, IT, consultants, and end users.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage competing priorities in a changing environment.
