Job description

Bunzl North America is looking to hire a Finance Business Associate. This role is responsible for analyzing financial information, using data to explain the financial results, and predicting the future performance of the company based on trends and other information.

This is a 12 - month structured training program designed to provide broad exposure through hands - on involvement with a variety of teams within the finance department.

This is a unique position for a recent graduate who has completed an internship or has other relevant student work experience looking to apply their skills, knowledge, and passion in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will participate in our Business Associate Program (BAP), which is a rotational program designed for ambitious, high-performing individuals. As part of the program, the candidate will rotate amongst teams within the corporate finance department (e.g., FP&A, Accounting, Financial Reporting, etc.). The BAP will interact with finance departments within the various divisions of the business, which will allow exposure to all aspects of Bunzl and help grow their skillset and learn more about working within a multi-faceted, world-class company.

This role is based in St. Louis, MO and is open to local candidates - no relocation.

Monday - Friday Hyrid - In office two days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts, budgets and prior periods
  • Assist with month-end close and associated reporting requirements
  • Provide robust variance explanations to stakeholders and summarize results with appropriate charts and narrative
  • Develop forecasting models using existing data, trends and expected business change
  • Assist with budgeting and strategic planning process
  • Identify trends and recommend actions based on sound analysis
  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives
  • Aid the business development team in acquisition related due diligence and other analysis
  • Prepare analysis in response to Ad hoc requests

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Up to 2 years of financial analyst experience in a large corporate environment or public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with good attention to detail, inquisitive and adaptable to changes in priorities
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications; Power BI and HFM experience a plus
