We are seeking a strategic and analytically driven Finance Manager, Aviation Investment & Leasing to support investment evaluation, aircraft leasing strategy, capital structuring, trading economics, debt structuring, and portfolio performance optimization. This is an individual contributor role, combining deep aviation market expertise with accounting and advanced financial modeling and a strong understanding of accounting processes, treasury management, and capital markets.
Reporting to the Leasing Divisional President with a dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer.  The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in aircraft leasing cycles, various return metric analysis, and structured financing, along with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable investment strategies. This individual will play a critical role in maximizing portfolio returns, optimizing capital deployment, and strengthening financial controls across leasing and trading operations.  This role is based onsite in Fort Lauderdale, FL. 
**Important Notice: 
 Eligibility Requirement: Only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Process Oversight
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure proper lease classification (operating vs. finance), revenue recognition (basic and supplemental rent), depreciation and impairment analysis
  • Coordinate monthly closing and ensure accurate financials
  • Support technical accounting considerations related to aircraft purchase and sale transactions.
  • Coordinate with tax department and optimize tax planning and decision making
  • Improve internal controls, reporting processes, and financial governance around leasing and trading activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Requires strong understanding of lease accounting rules globally

Investment Criteria & Portfolio Management
  • Be able to drive analysis and assess asset-level and portfolio-level returns (Unlevered and levered IRR, NPV, cash yield, lease rate factors, MOIC etc).
  • Analyze market trends, fleet demand, aircraft lifecycle dynamics, and leasing cycles to inform investment strategy.
  • Drive return analysis across varying lease structures and capital scenarios and after tax returns
  • Evaluate credit risk and counterparty exposure.
  • Monitor lease performance, cash flow stability, and asset residual value trends.

Financial Modeling & Treasury/Capital Structure
  • Design, maintain and audit advanced financial models incorporating debt structures, tax considerations, maintenance cash flows, and scenario stress testing.  High excel fluency and ability to teach others
  • Evaluate financing alternatives including secured debt (senior and sub), warehouse facilities, ABS structures, term debt and equity partnerships with upside sharing mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with corporate treasury on funding strategies and refinancing initiatives.
  • Analyze capital structure efficiency and recommend adjustments to enhance shareholder value and cash flow.

  • Provide executive-level reporting and investment committee presentations.
  • Mentor and develop high-performing finance and investment professionals.
  • Other duties as required.
     
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in aviation finance, aircraft leasing, structured finance, or related investment roles.
  • Deep knowledge of aircraft leasing cycles, asset valuation, and secondary market dynamics.
  • Advanced financial modeling expertise (Excel and/or financial modeling platforms).
  • Knowledge of lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842 / IFRS 16).
  • Proven track record of evaluating and executing complex investment transactions.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
