University Supervisor of Student Teachers / Supervisor of CSBO Interns - School of Education
The School of Education at the University of Illinois Springfield is in search of a pool of qualifiedpersons interested in the supervision of teacher candidates or supervision of CSBO interns. The greatest need for teacher candidate supervision is in theSpringfield and Chicago land area with some demands in other areas throughoutIllinois.
Teacher candidate supervision responsibilities:

• Mentor teacher candidates in theirsemester-long student teaching internship.
• Serve as a liaison between UIS and the schooldistrict personnel, primarily the cooperating teacher.
• Observe the student teacher on-site and provide formal and informal assessments ofthe teacher candidate's teaching performance, requiring a minimum of 4 on-siteobservations with brief post-conference meetings.
• Attend an annual virtualsynchronous training.
• Participate in three monthlymeetings held virtually throughout each semester to discuss arisingneeds or concerns.

CSBO intern supervision responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of the student's clinical experiences proposal.
• Participate in virtual conferences as needed and one wrap-up conference. The final report of the clinical experience will be discussed at the last conference.
• Maintain contact with the field supervisor and respond to any questions, problems or concerns raised about the student's progress.
• Evaluate the student and report a pass/fail grade at the end of each semester of participation.

Minimum requirements:
Teacher candidate supervision

• Master's degree in teaching or relevant academic field.
• At least three years of classroom teaching experience.
• Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.

CSBO intern supervision:

• Hold current Illinois endorsement for CSBO or currently serves as school district chief financial officer.

*Supervision may begin slightly prior to the start dates andpossibly carry over a bit past the end date.
Stipend
$500 plus travel reimbursement/ assignment
Stipend may be forfeited in favor of a tuition waiver forone UIS course for up to 4 credit hours.
