Job description

At Bristol Myers Squibb, our employees often ask, "Who are you working for?"-a question that fuels collaboration, accountability, and urgency in our work. Our purpose-driven culture inspires us to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines to prevail over serious diseases. We offer uniquely interesting and meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits.

This is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it. The Finance and Accounting Leadership Accelerator (FALA) Internship is a 10-week paid experience that gives current college students hands-on exposure to corporate accounting and finance. Interns are placed within Bristol Myers Squibb's Global Finance community across a broad range of areas, including controllership, technical accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, global internal audit, and commercial finance.

Interns take on real-world assignments and deliver a capstone presentation to finance leadership at the end of the summer. All internships are based out of Central New Jersey. Interns receive mentorship from finance leaders, participate in professional development workshops, and build a strong network across the organization.

Top-performing interns will be strongly considered for full-time opportunities in the Finance and Accounting Leadership Accelerator (FALA) upon graduation. Program Dates: Monday June 7, 2027 - Friday, August 13, 2027. Location in the Princeton, NJ area.

Minimum Qualifications: Currently enrolled student, on track to graduate by Spring 2028, seeking a Bachelor's or Masters' degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution. Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment

Please note that visa sponsorship, including student or temporary work authorization programs, is not available for this role. Candidates must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship now or in the future. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Strong analytical skills and an understanding of data analytics. Curiosity about AI and automation tools, with exposure to or experience using tools such as Claude and Claude Cowork (Anthropic), Power BI, and Power Automate. Proven capability to effectively communicate within work and/or academic environments, with the ability to adapt messages to suit various audiences.

Preferred Qualifications: Planning to sit for the Uniform CPA and/or CMA examination upon graduation. Passion for gaining hands-on experience and interest in a full-time role at Bristol Myers Squibb post-graduation. Demonstrated leadership experience within a school, extracurricular, and/or professional setting.

Previous finance and/or accounting internship experience. Exposure or proficiency in manipulating large sets of data to perform robust analytics. Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams.

Completion of accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course. Desire to work towards a leadership role in a large BioPharma company. Strong time management skills and the ability to work autonomously and within a team.

The starting hourly compensation for this assignment is within the range of $24.00 to $32.00/hr. Please note that the final individual compensation and any applicable benefits will be determined by your employer of record (and not BMS). Factors influencing this decision may include the characteristics of the assignment, such as demonstrated experience, required skill, and the geographic location of the job

We determine starting pay thoughtfully - carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance.

Benefits: Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, you may be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefit plans - including wellbeing support, retirement and financial protection benefits, and insurance offerings (medical, dental, vision, life and disability). U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year.
