Job description

Summary
The Toyoda Gosei Group is a leading global manufacturer of rubber and plastic automotive components, safety systems and LEDs. Globally Headquartered in Japan with a network of 67 group companies in 17 countries and regions, the Group brings its extensive range of products to customers all over the world.

Toyoda Gosei North America (headquartered in Troy, MI) has an opening for an Assistant Director of Tax in the Finance and Accounting department. The Assistant Director of Tax is responsible for federal and state tax matters across Toyoda Gosei (TG) US operations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and facilitate timely and accurate preparation and review of U.S., State and local tax returns
• Provide and support tax issues on business transactions and strategic initiatives
• Manage and Support transfer pricing compliance and documentation
• Develop and implement tax-saving opportunities and planning
• Monitor and identify new tax legislation and regulations, communicate with management; and implement and strategize as required.
• Represent, manage and facilitate tax authority audits
• Interact with and manage 3rd party advisors on outsourced activities.
• Lead, manage and develop a small tax team
• Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen)
• This role requires the completion of other duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Certifications and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax
• MST (Master of Science in Taxation) or Juris Doctorate Preferred
• CPA certification

Experience

• 15+ Years of progressive experience in corporate tax department required
• Experience leading a multinational tax function
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state taxation
• Experience with ASC 740 tax accounting and provisions
• Experience managing external tax advisors
• Transfer pricing exposure
• Big 4 CPA firm experience is a plus
