Position Summary The Finance Resource Generalist is responsible for performing a broad range of accounting, financial analysis, and customer support functions. This role supports financial operations by preparing and reviewing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, maintaining financial records, processing payments and reimbursements, and providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders. The position also supports financial systems, reporting activities, and process improvement initiatives to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data. Key Responsibilities Specific responsibilities may vary based on organizational assignment. Common duties include: Financial Operations & Accounting
Perform a full range of accounting and financial management activities in support of organizational operations.
Prepare, review, and process financial transactions, including vendor payments, reimbursements, debt collections, and other accounting activities.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, financial systems, sub-ledgers, bank accounts, and financial statements; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
Review and process accounting adjustments, corrections, and journal entries to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Assist with the establishment, tracking, and periodic review of commitments and obligations to ensure proper utilization of funds.
Record and maintain financial data within financial management systems while ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Process travel and miscellaneous reimbursement requests in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Analyze complex accounting issues and resolve outstanding financial discrepancies.
Financial Analysis & Customer Support
Provide financial guidance and support to management, staff, and customers regarding financial policies, procedures, and requirements.
Serve as a primary point of contact for financial and administrative inquiries.
Research financial regulations, policies, and system data to resolve financial issues and recommend solutions.
Interpret and apply financial policies and procedures to support decision-making and operational requirements.
Provide technical and financial assistance to customers on matters related to accounting processes, documentation requirements, expenditures, and payment activities.
Leadership & Collaboration
Provide guidance and support to team members regarding financial procedures, workflow processes, and organizational priorities.
Assist management in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and process improvements.
Provide financial and technical expertise to managers, analysts, and team members on complex accounting and financial matters.
Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams to resolve system-related issues and improve operational processes.
Review and assist with resolving policy interpretation questions and customer concerns.
Financial Systems & Reporting
Monitor financial systems, databases, and electronic communications to address inquiries and maintain operational continuity.
Support financial system enhancements by participating in requirements gathering, testing, validation, and implementation activities.
Generate ad hoc reports and perform functional testing to ensure systems operate effectively and support business needs.
Analyze interfaces between financial systems to ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting and financial data.
Provide user support, training, and guidance on financial systems and related processes.
Develop training materials and participate in system training sessions for end users.
Compliance & Record Management
