About the Role
The Project Assistant - Finance Administration is an integral part of Latham's Finance Administration team. This role will be responsible for providing high-level administrative and project support to the Global Finance leadership team, including the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Deputy Chiefs, Directors, and broader leadership team, while serving as a trusted liaison and primary point of contact for Finance leadership, coordinating inquiries, communications, materials, and follow-up with internal and external stakeholders while exercising sound judgment and discretion. This role will be located in our Global Services Office (GSO) in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting departmental projects and initiatives by tracking actions, maintaining documentation, monitoring progress, and helping ensure deliverables align with Finance standards and objectives
  • Collaborating with other Firm departments to streamline processes, enhance communication, support shared operational needs, and assist with aspects of new joiner onboarding and integration into the Finance organization
  • Assisting with Finance-related operations and information flow, including meetings and calendars, travel and events logistics, reports and data summaries, department communications, collaboration sites, organizational charts, administrative workflows, expense and invoice processing, and compliance with Firm policies and procedures
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Exhibit professional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Possess the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus
  • Demonstrate organizational skills to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines

And have:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • A Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, or equivalent), preferably
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience performing administrative duties and coordinating projects or initiatives in a professional services or project management environment
