How much can I make selling final expense insurance?

Final expense insurance sales agents typically earn commissions ranging from 40% to 100% of the policy premium, with top producers earning $50,000 to $100,000 or more annually. Income depends on sales volume, experience, and the commission structure of the insurance company, often supplemented by bonuses or residuals for ongoing policies.

You'll work alongside some of the top producers in the country and build a long-lasting, financially rewarding career of your own.

The Role

As a Medicare & Final Expense Agent at Avid, you'll be connected with seniors and other Americans who are looking to gain or review their Medicare coverage and explore life insurance, final expense, and ancillary options to protect their loved ones. We work with all the nation's leading carriers across Medicare (Advantage, Supplement, Part D), life / final expense, and ancillary products — so you'll always be able to offer clients every option and ensure they end up with the best one for them.

This is not a traditional call center role. You'll leverage cutting-edge AI tools to:

  • Understand client needs faster
  • Deliver highly personalized plan recommendations
  • Build long-term relationships — not just close one-time sales

You are both a trusted advisor and a case manager, owning the full client journey from first conversation through enrollment and beyond.

What You'll Do
  • Make outbound calls to interested leads and preset appointments; handle inbound calls primarily from existing clients in your book of business
  • Educate and advise individuals on the Medicare and life / final expense products available to them based on their demographics and needs
  • Enroll prospects into plans and policies, and process all carrier-required paperwork promptly
  • Communicate with prospects via text message and our automated GydeOS platform
  • Run a full needs assessment for every client — health, household, beneficiaries, budget — and present Medicare and final expense options that match
  • Cross-sell where it genuinely serves the client (e.g., pairing a Medicare plan with an appropriately sized final expense policy)
  • Manage your book year-round — be the trusted resource your clients call first
  • Hit and sustain production targets
  • Maintain required licensing and certifications; complete continuing education on time
  • Document every interaction as the call happens — finish your notes before the next call
  • Show up energetic, enthusiastic, and excited every single day
What We're Looking For
  • Hungry, humble, coachable — comfortable on the phone, with the "gift of gab" used in service of listening
  • No prior insurance experience required; we train from zero
  • Willing and eligible to obtain a health and/or life insurance license — Avid covers all costs
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain plan differences without jargon
  • Comfortable with technology — specifically the kind of person who is curious about AI tools rather than wary of them
  • Track record of consistency: reliable schedule, reliable behavior, reliable follow-through
  • Positive attitude and team-first mindset
  • Must pass a background check
  • Health and/or life insurance license preferred (we'll get you licensed if you don't have one)
  • If you are currently appointed with any carriers, you must be able to obtain a release prior to your start date — we'll guide you through the process
Compensation
  • Base hourly pay: $20 per hour, paid bi-weekly
  • Commission: Monthly commission bonuses with strong earning potential
  • Renewals: Renewal commissions starting in Year 2 on your existing book of business — across both Medicare and life / final expense lines
  • Total annual earnings: $55,000–$80,000
  • Licensing: Avid pays for you to get licensed (health and life) — including study materials and exam fees
Career Path

We are firm believers in promoting from within. Avid offers structured leadership development and a clear path from new hire to top producer to team leader — with quarterly review and tier advancement based on production and consistency.

Why Join Avid

A modern, tech-enabled call center where you work alongside some of the top producers in the country. AI-powered case management that makes you more successful from day one. Paid licensing, paid training, and a structured ramp to full production. Clear earning benchmarks and full commission transparency. A real career — not just a job.
