Job description

Overview

We are committed to maintaining an entrepreneurial culture built on a foundation of trust and in which our leaders exhibit a strong bias for action. This Sr. Buyer position works out of our Fairburn GA manufacturing plant. This position is a key member of the Operations team, serves as the main purchaser of direct material and reports to the site’s S&OE Leader.

Responsibilities
  • Advanced understanding of material requirements planning (MRP). Use knowledge for placing purchase requisitions, managing purchase orders, and ensuring a steady supply of raw material.
  • Reviews demand signals and purchases raw material in a timely manner; reviews supplier lead times, minimum order quantities, and on time performance.
  • Work with operations and commercial managers to ensure service levels and inventory plans are consistent with business growth and financial goals.
  • Support inventory optimization efforts and procurement strategies to ensure best inclass cash conversion cycle attainment.
  • Identify and analyze supply chain risks and opportunities; proactively communicate any material availability issues: ex. shortages and delays
  • Assist with MRO purchases when needed.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of supply chain and purchasing experience
  • Procurement Certifications – APICS, Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) is a plus.
  • Professional, assertive, positive and team oriented
