Job Description

The NBCUniversal Team is looking for a Sustainable Operations Program Manager to join our Sustainability team.

In this role, you will champion the execution of NBCU’s ambitious carbon reduction plan.  You will work with a wide range of internal, corporate, and external stakeholders  to define our approach to decarbonization and foster programs and pilots to implement initiatives across the global enterprise.  You will report progress on our environmental goals to senior leadership, working groups, and the Sustainability Council.

You will report to the Director of Sustainability Strategy, to coordinate NBCU’s efforts and ensure alignment with broader enterprise goals.  You will partner with the NBCU Sustainability Data Solutions Team as they provide real-time data that accurately measures NBCU’s carbon emissions and progress against its reduction targets. Finally, you will own and manage the Sustainability Project Tracker and emissions Long Range Plan as a key component of our sustainability strategy approach.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage our Sustainable Operations strategy, including end-to-end management of programs focused on: renewable energy, green building, fleet electrification, and facility decarbonization (boiler electrification & energy efficiency projects).
  • Research emerging sustainability trends, net-zero targets and methodology updates, low carbon technologies, market landscape, rebate/incentive programs, and big ideas
  • Pilot new programs and clean technologies that improve sustainability performance and reduce carbon emissions
  • Manage NBCU’s Sustainability Long Range Plan and emissions forecasts including:
    • Maintain a robust project tracker that includes financial, carbon and energy data on an ongoing basis
    • Support development of dashboards and reporting to track progress towards our goals for both the enterprise and individual business units
    • Sustainability capital planning: tied to the Sustainability Long Range Plan, annual sustainability budgeting, and initiative-specific funding requests.
    • Roll up and prioritize these initiatives to maximize reduction and minimize cost and business disruption impact
  • Support the Sustainability team, including cross-disciplinary projects and tracking applicable and forthcoming environmental laws and regulations.

What You Have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as: Environmental Sciences/Studies, Sustainability, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • 4+ years of sustainability-related work experience
  • Proven expertise in environmental sustainability and relevant technical skills, such as: greenhouse gas accounting, emission reduction target setting, renewable energy tracking, carbon accounting, and data collection
  • Experience participating in sustainability program roll outs from end-to-end
  • A documented track-record of delivering sustainability pilots and projects, across geographies and balancing priorities and stakeholders
  • 1+ year(s) of proficiently delivering in financial analysis, carbon reduction project vetting, emission forecasting, and building dynamic program trackers

What Would Make You a Stand-out:

  •  
  • Master’s Degree in Sustainability, Management, Energy, or any relevant program
  • Familiarity with film/TV, theme parks, broadcast, data centers, or studio business segments
  • Experience supporting large, multi-site portfolios that rely heavily on external providers to deliver high-quality and timely work product
  • Experience working in Finance, Accounting, Sourcing, or similar departments
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification

  • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000 annually
